Space Week 2019

The first day of the conference is dedicated mainly to the present and future funding opportunities in research and innovation provided by the European Union. In addition to the Brokerage Event, 5 sessions will take place:

  1. H2020 Space Infoday (9.00-11.10)
  2. InvestEU (11.30-13.00)
  3. Towards Horizon Europe (14.00-15.30)
  4. Elevator Pitch Session (14.00-15.30)
  5. Role of Industry - Space Technollogies (16.00-17.30)

APRE - in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities, Education and Research and the Italian National Delegates and with the participation of representatives from the European Commission - organizes an International H2020 Space Infoday for presenting the new (and last!) version of the Work Programme containing the calls for funding for 2020. 

The budget for the last year is of €125 million, raising to €223 million considering also the other opportunities for the sector (e.g. H2020 prizes).


This session, structured as round table, will be focused on the important modification to the financial instruments for Large industries, SMEs and Start ups in the next Programming Period 2021-2027.

InvestEu will indeed bring together, under one roof, the European Fund for Strategic Investments and 13 EU financial instruments currently available, triggering at least €650 billion in additional investment. Those financial facilities will aim also to increase the risk capital available to invest in SMEs and small midcaps operating in the space domain with the aim to commercialise new products and services linked to space data and space technologies.


This session is structured with the aim to present the status of the planned new Framework Programme Horizon Europe, with a special focus on Space. During this session the outline of the the future Horizon Europe will be given.


Space technologies have become an enormous opportunity in the daily lives of European citizens and can support a lot of EU policies and potential priorities such as economy, migration, climate change, the Digital Single Market and management of natural resources, in line with the Space Strategy for Europe. This session will be dedicated to the space technologies and the potential of industry space sector in Europe in view of new challenges and new opportunities in Horizon Europe.
