Hack the CLEOS
E-GEOS is organizing "Hack the CLEOS", a Hackathon dedicated to the world of Geoinformation, at the headquarters of the Italian Space Agency in Rome, within the Space Week 2019 which will be held from 9 to 11 October.
Participants will have to devise a new product / service / concept aimed at public administrations and / or private organizations that support them on the path to environmental sustainability and the management of natural resources, based on their knowledge and their ingenuity. They will be asked to search for new "signals" (persistent and recognizable elements in satellite earth observation data) deriving from the combined analysis of satellite and non-satellite data. Three consolidated customers of e-GEOS will explain to the participants the challenges they are called to face and will indicate some priorities in addition to sharing possible opportunities. The prize consists in the participation, for a member of the team, to the international "SpaceCom $ 100,000 Entrepreneur Challenge" to be held at the end of November in Houston within the SPACECOMExpo event.
CLEOS is the e-GEOS satellite data and information platform, which will provide an initial set of data (including optical satellite and SAR images, in situ data, training data sets, etc.) and features directly accessible from CLEOS Developer.
The coding marathon will end with the presentation of a Proof of Concept (POC) of innovative applications based on the CLEOS Developer alpha, making use of Earth Observation data. Participants will have access to the platform, the related basic documentation and specific datasets.
